When you have the opportunity to make a quick trip to Colorado with your college friend, and fellow photographer (The Lovely Ms. Aubrey), you don’t say no! In August I found myself on the Western Slope of Colorado in a cute little town called Telluride! It was instant love and at least for a moment my Wanderlust was satisfied. There was car karaoke, hiking, beer tasting, hot tubbing, a brief interlude so we could shoot a fabulous wedding, star gazing, and more. While the drive from Missouri to Telluride was long, it was well worth the drive!
On our way to Telluride we made a stop at Rocky Mountain Brewery for some bbq and beer samples!

In Telluride we stayed at a lovely airbnb nestled in the mountains! Ms. Hazel the airbnb cat was our companion and kept us quite entertained.
A pre-wedding day brunch found us at the New Sheridan Hotel.
Another day we lunched at Brown Dog Pizza! I’d highly recommend trying their Detroit-style “Brooklyn Bridge” pizza.
To work off all that pizza we took a hike up to Bridal Veil Falls.
Chicken and waffles at The Butcher & The Baker Cafe. If you know me, you are probably confused as to why there is an egg on my food. I confess I shared this dish with Aubrey and she took the eggs. 🙂
Our friend Cassie came down from Colorado Springs to hang with us for a day. The photo below is courtesy of that handy little timer button on my camera.
Hang around for part 2…
