In April I traveled to the Northwest to visit my college friend, Rosie. We spent a week drinking coffee, road tripping, hiking mountains, eating huckleberry “everything,” walking along the beach, taking pictures (and taking selfies…as you shall see), riding bicycles, bungee jumping, wandering around a city market, chasing sunsets, shopping in all the places, seeing all the sights, doing all the things, and just having a fabulous time!
I decided to break up my trip in to two blog posts. Part 1 is our hike at Mt. Rainier. Waking at the crack of dawn we drove a solid 5 hours from her home in Spokane, Washington to Mt. Rainer. We tackled a few different trails before the sun set. One included a 1.8 mile climb straight up, but introduced us to a beautiful mountain view and SNOW!
Our little B&B with picturesque views located at the base of Mt. Rainer. The hot tub was definitely the selling point, but Alexander’s lodge was the perfect place to stay after a long day of hiking.
When your traveling companion is also a photographer you end up with lots of pictures of yourself. Some normal and some on the sillier side! 🙂
We dominated that mountain, oh yes we did. Masterful (lumber-jack was actually the first thought that came to mind) pose below required!
Stay tuned for Part 2…
